Letters to my little •

Oh little D,

You are such fun!

You ask to dance. So we put on music & you show us your crazy moves!

You love hummus. You literally eat it out the pot with a spoon.

You adore iggle piggle & upsy Daisy.

You sleep in your big girl bed, but every night you melt my heart and ask to go in “mummys bed!”

You LOVE riding bikes & scooters.

(& not forgetting you love to wear a helmet!)

Helping grandad in his workshop is your favourite.

You say you want a cuddle whenever you want to see something that you can’t reach! (Normally what’s on the kitchen sides!)

You tell us when you’ve done a wee wee or a poo in your nappy.

In the mornings when you wake up you whisper, “beebies, milk, gown, downstairs!”

You don’t like bugs. You call most bugs spiders & flies. We then have to get grandmas feather duster to catch them!

You screw your little face up & say “don’t like” when it’s something you dislike!

-especially at peppers when we are doing the Tesco shopping! Haha!

You still take bunnies with you, & dummy. Oh and blanket, and iggle piggle & upsy Daisy!

You sniff bunny to sleep.

You simply love the outdoors.

You love to draw.

You love to paint.

You “cheers” us when you drink!

You get nervous around new people.

You love wearing “pumpers!” (Jumpers!)

You love to play hide & seek. You’ll count whilst hiding behind your hands, & then you’ll say “where are youuuuuu!”

No slide scares you. The bigger the better.

You don’t like noisy motorbikes.

You like to sleep with your feet pillow end, on top of all your covers!

You love to play with your baby doll & care for her.

A little day •

A sunny day.

image

So last Thursday the sun was shining, & we had a full day with our littlest friend. So off we headed to Roundstone PYO farm. We had never been before, & oh my, I cannot wait to go back – it’s the cutest! There are so many different things to pick, a little hut with the friendliest of people, & a tractor that takes you & stops at various stops about the fields! So we decided to walk to the strawberries, with our little baskets, & have a good wonder about the place. You enjoyed running on the grass & heading on up the tracks through the field! There were lots of different sections with strawberry plants, so we felt like we were the only ones there!

You got into it straight away. I showed you where they were, & you got so excited. You love “pawberries” as you call them. You didn’t even pick the ones that weren’t ripe, you were so clever! So we went up & down, filling our baskets, & really enjoying the sunshine. Now, the signs say that you must “pay before you eat!” But how could I tell you that? You literally plonked yourself down with J,& scoffed absolutely tons!!! (I swear the basket was more full of half eaten ones!) The thing that made me chuckle, was the fact you now had strawberry juice all around your face & all down your white top! Bit of a giveaway? So once we had picked, eaten, picked a few more, we hopped onto the tractor to head back to pay. We filled up a punnet, & then headed to the farm shop to have a mooch.

It was an absolutely lovely morning, & so inspiring for us to grow some in our own garden. We then drove onto the beach, to have a picnic & a paddle. You & J adore the beach, however everytime we seem to go, dogs always seem to steal our picnic!! It is funny, well, you find it funny, J really doesn’t! But that aside we had great fun paddling, jumping the waves, & “fishing” with our nets.

We honestly had the best day! Memories that shall be treasured with these simply stunning photos.

Love you my little one

A little milestone •

A night without you.

Well. Yes. We did it. We officially had our first night apart. A night for me without you. And a night for you without me. And oh my, it pulled at every heart string & more.

Ever since mummy & daddy made the decision to be apart, it’s always played at the back of my mind that at some point you will be having days, nights & weekends away from me. The thought of leaving you overnight has always made me doubt myself, doubt the fact of myself as a mother. Your needs have always been my priority, and somehow me leaving you at night felt like I almost was denying you of that. I know it’s silly, & I know wherever you are your always in the best hands, & quite simply loving life. But the thought of you waking up at night, saying mummy, asking for cuddles, & just needing that reassurance, has led me to 22 months of being by your side. 22 months of being your nightly safe place & comfort. The thought of leaving you made me feel like you’d think I’d abandoned you, & this thought was the last thing I’d ever want you to feel. I’ve always made that promise to myself, from the moment you were born, that id be there for you no matter what – & yes, waking up every night at 1am, to a “mummmmmmmmy!” is part of that. & I wouldn’t change it for the world.

So yes. We’ve waited for you to be a bit older, sleeping better & so you have that better understanding of the situation. (More on my part through worry I guess!) but I’ve always said from day one that i want you to be able to understand where mummy is! And boy oh boy, I’m so glad we did.

The day after when daddy brought you home, all you could talk about was how you slept in “daddy’s bed” you both went “shhhhh (snoring noise!)” and that “mummy at work!” I felt so reassured that you were okay! I mean I knew you were going to be okay, you were with daddy, but you were okay without me! & that made me feel on top of the world. It’s made me realise that we can have that time apart, and for it to benefit us both. I’ll just make sure next time it’s not a night where I’m working till 12.30 at night, so I can enjoy a little me time some more! (Haha!)

You simply are growing up beautifully Daisy-Mai, and I’m just so thankful, that however hard it is, that me & daddy are trying our upmost best to make the right choices for you!

I guess that’s another milestone achieved. (& I just hope each time it gets that little bit easier!)

love you my sweet,

mummy x

Summer garden fun!

image

This weekend has been glorious. & this week looks to be even nicer! So we’ve been soaking up the British weather with lots of fun in the garden. You’ve had your pink inflatable car blown up, with all the balls in, so we’ve added some water this weekend & you’ve loved it – we’ve even added the slide to the mix & you’ve been throwing yourself down into the water!

You’ve also enjoyed the copious amounts of icecreams too! Ahhhh, I am still so thankful that I get to spend days with you, making memories & watching you grow!

A little memory •

“mummy look!”

So for days, weeks, months, we’ve sat on the potty but still eagerly awaited the first wee wee! So today after our morning bath, I hear a “mummy look!” I ran into your bedroom with anticipation as I hear you say “all wet!” I find you standing there holding your potty UPSIDE DOWN! But you had officially done your first wee wee in the potty – it was now just all over the floor!

Mama is so proud of you D!

We’re back!

Well, here it goes.

3 months have gone by, & quite frankly they’ve zoomed! To be honest I’ve felt a little lost with my blog, & whether I’ve wanted to continue it, but I’ve just sat here reading previous posts & realised how precious it is. So my little, I’m sorry I’ve missed 3 whole months of doings, but I will do a reflection post soon! I want to continue it for you, for you to be able to look back on all the memories that we’ve shared, & for you to laugh about the little character that I’m getting to enjoy each day. So here it goes, we are back, Daisy & I; my littles day.

Loads of love! X

18 months.

You are a whole 18 months. A whole year & a half. A whole 6 months off being Two! I literally just can’t believe it. You are changing everyday Daisy, & I couldn’t be prouder at how clever you are! The best thing right now is when you say “duddle” and wrap your arms around us! Completely melts my heart.
